Indiana is just one court decision away from homosexual marriages! In order to protect marriage between one man and one woman and to prohibit same sex civil unions, Indiana must pass a Constitutional Amendment.  The first step to amend the Constitution occurred in 2011 when the State Senate and House of Representatives passed the Marriage Amendment, House Joint Resolution 6.  The next step is for the General Assembly to once again pass the Marriage Amendment in 2014.  The voters of Indiana would then have the opportunity to vote in November 2014 to add this amendment to the Indiana Constitution. Advance America will continue to help lead the effort to pass the Constitutional Amendment to protect marriage.  Be watching for more details on how individual citizens can help.

U.S. Supreme Court to Rule on Marriage!

The U.S. Supreme Court is holding two hearings this week that could impact Indiana’s Constitutional Amendment on marriage.

One of the cases deals with the California Constitutional Amendment to protect marriage between one man and one woman.  The second case deals with the Federal Defense of Marriage Act which also protects marriage between one man and one woman.

The Supreme Court could hand down its decision in June or July of this year.  Please pray the Supreme Court will uphold the traditional definition of marriage!
