On Tuesday, March 26 the Indiana Supreme Court held that Indiana’s school choice law, the most expansive school choice law in the Nation, was Constitutional! The law, House Bill 1003, was enacted in 2011.

Advance America helped pass House Bill 1003 in the 2011 Indiana General Assembly paving the way for thousands of Hoosier parents to be able to use a school choice voucher in order to choose the best school for their child including a Christian school.

Here is what Governor Mike Pence said about the Supreme Court’s Ruling:

“I welcome the Indiana Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Indiana’s school choice program.  I have long believed that parents should be able to choose where their children go to school, regardless of their income.  Now that the Indiana Supreme Court has unanimously upheld this important program, we must continue to find ways to expand educational opportunities for all Indiana families.”

Advance America will continue to help lead the effort at the State House to expand Indiana’s school choice law so more parents can choose the best location for their children to get their education.
