The State of Indiana is still not doing well with regard to tax revenue. Next year the General Assembly will adopt a new two year budget. If legislators are not made to hold the line on spending, they may be looking at ways to bring in more money from the taxpayers.

One approach that they may take is to start taxing services. The non-partisan Indiana Fiscal Policy Institute did an analysis of the impact of imposing Indiana’s 7% sales tax on service transactions.  They found that the state could take in $6.7 billion annually.  What do you think?  If you have an opinion about the State of Indiana raising taxes by expanding the sales tax to services contact your Senator and Representative.
