Senate Bill 101 is the Religious Freedom Restoration Act.
The Indiana General Assembly did the right thing when they passed SB 101 this year to protect religious freedom!
Governor Pence did the right thing when he signed SB 101 into law on March 26, 2015.
Now the opponents of religious freedom are spreading misinformation about the law and threatening boycotts of Indiana in an attempt to force the General Assembly to adversely change the new religious freedom law.
Here are 5 examples of how SB 101 will help protect religious freedom in Indiana:
- Christian bakers, florists and photographers should not be forced by the government to participate in a homosexual wedding.
- Pastors should not be forced by the government to conduct a homosexual wedding at the church.
- A pro-life business owner should not be forced by the government to rent his facility to a pro-abortion group.
- A pro-life business owner should not be forced by the government to provide abortion coverage for his employees.
- A Christian business owner should not be forced by the government to permit a male cross-dresser to use the women’s restroom.
The opponents of SB 101 say that the bill will give someone the right to refuse to serve someone in a restaurant.
That’s not true and they know it!
Protecting Religious Freedom In Indiana Is Non-Negotiable!
Senate Bill 101 is a good law because it will provide all Hoosiers with the protection for religious freedom that they deserve!
Senate Bill 101 is similar to religious freedom laws in 19 other states!
Senate Bill 101 is similar to the religious freedom law passed by the U.S. Congress in 1993 and signed into law by President Bill Clinton.
Hoosiers deserve protection for religious freedom that individuals have in these 19 other states and that all Americans have in the federal courts in all 50 states.
This means if Senate Bill 101 is changed in any way then Hoosiers will have less protection for religious freedom than their fellow citizens will have in these 19 other states and in the federal courts in all 50 states. That would not be right!
