At Advance America we have been telling people the battle to protect marriage between one man and one woman is not over! And it’s not!
On Thursday, November 6th the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals upheld 4 Constitutional Amendments stating that marriage is to be between one man and one woman!
The court upheld marriage amendments approved by the voters in Ohio, Tennessee, Michigan and Kentucky.
This will now set the stage for the U.S. Supreme Court to take this case from the 6th Circuit and rule on the constitutionality of marriage amendments adopted by the states that limit marriage to one man and one woman.
Hopefully the U.S. Supreme Court will then rule that states can define marriage the way they want to!
Then Indiana can move forward with passing the Marriage Amendment in the General Assembly so the voters of Indiana can protect marriage between one man and one woman in 2016!
The decision of the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals is a great victory for the children and families of America.
